Just-Install is a little tool to speed up the Palm applications' installation.As you know, when we are going to install applications/eBooks into our Palm devicesvia HotSync, generally the other Palm applications are also synchronized, aswell as the system backup. If you seldom install applications, that's OK, butif you often install applications/eBooks to the Palm, it could be a waste, especiallyyou have many other applications to be synchronized.Now, by Just-Install, this pain could be leveraged. You can use it to update the HotSync settings with only a few clicks, then you don't have to synchronize other applicationsor backup the Palm databases in the next HotSync. It does save some time and resource, right? System Requirements Operating System: Windows9x/ME/NT/2000/XP Palm Desktop: Version 3.5 or higher, with HotSync Manager installed. How to use Just-Install Just-Install is very easy to use. When the Just-Install starts up, it will list all the conduits installed on your Palm desktop. The conduits are grouped into two categories, the install conduits and the other application conduits. At the beginning, only the install conduits are selected, if you only need to install applications/ebooks while do not want to sync other applications or do backup because they may not be necessary. You can simply press the "apply" button to update the HotSync settings. Then when you do HotSync to install your applications/eBooks, the other applications won't be synchronized. And please notice, the HotSync settings are updated temperarily and only affects the next HotSync, after you install the applications, they will be restored to their default settings, so don't worry about your later HotSync to be changed. Of course, if you still want to sync some other applications when installing the applications, you can select the "Also Do Other Synchronizations" radio button, then select the applications you want to sync, Just-Install won't disable them later. |
